Is my privacy guaranteed when I use the Chargee app?
Yes, your privacy is guaranteed. We comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation. This means that the app only collects and uses data that is necessary to provide insight into your energy consumption and does not store unnecessary personal data.
Chargee is also officially ISO-certified. The ISO 27001 certificate shows that we meet strict requirements and procedures to optimally protect your data, guarantee privacy and minimize security risks. ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard in the field of information security. Our ISO 27001 certification proves that we have taken the necessary steps to protect your data. We have been assessed on this by the independent certification body Kiwa Nederland.
What do you use my energy data for?
There are various energy data that we collect from you to ensure that you can use energy as smartly as possible.
Meter readings
We use the meter number of your gas/electricity meter to identify you and provide you with our services. Based on meter readings from your smart meter, we provide insight into your energy consumption.
P1 - Live consumption
The P1 port is a connection to your smart meter that outputs the current values of your meter every second. On older meters, this is every 10 seconds. Sparky sends these values from your smart meter to the Chargee app as often as it can.
P4 - Historical consumption
As a certified service provider at EDSN, we have access to the network where we request meter readings from grid operators. The process starts as soon as you have permitted Chargee to read your smart meter when creating your account and you have successfully installed Sparky. This way we can show you your historical consumption of the past 13 months.
Predictions
Your energy data is fed into a mathematical model that predicts your expected solar generation, energy consumption and return.
Energy contract and appliances in the home
If we know what type of energy contract you have and which appliances you use, we can develop better functionalities for your situation and better recognize your consumption profile.
What is the difference between the different Chargee subscriptions?
Chargee Basic is free and you can use it to gain insight into your consumption at a detailed resolution.
With Chargee Standard you have all the benefits of Chargee Basic, and you save energy smartly with personalized forecasts and smart notifications. You can also connect your solar inverter so that you can view your solar consumption at home.
Chargee Premium has all the benefits of Chargee Standard and offers an all-in-one solution for your energy household. With Chargee Premium it is possible to control your devices smartly by connecting them to your electric car, charging station, inverter or home battery.
